Rev. Terry Minchow-Proffitt
Senior Pastor
Rev. Terry Minchow-Proffitt is a graduate of Arkansas State University (Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy) and Princeton Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity in Theology). He has done additional graduate work in religion and literature at the Washington Theological Union and the University of Mississippi.
Terry enjoys reading poetry, fiction, philosophy and theology—anything that explores the sacred journey of our “with God” lives. He also raises chickens, but that’s another story.
He came to Delmar in 2001. His previous pastoral experience includes work with three congregations over 15 years with additional service as a campus minister at the University of Utah, Princeton University and the University of Mississippi. Terry’s wife is a physician at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center. They have two children: Zak, 18, a freshman at the University of South Carolina; and Hannah, 16, a junior at Kirkwood High School.
In the end we go to God for one reason, that we might more fully inhabit our lives and the world in which we live them. If we more fully inhabit these things, we might be less apt to destroy—and more apt to enjoy—them both.
